Nevada, with thousands of acres of barren desert, may seem like a strange place to have vineyards, and for most of the state that would be true. However, a small group of pioneers are making real progress in select areas and with certain grape varietals. While Nevada may never become another Napa Valley, we are proving every day that with patience, care, and yes a little luck it can be done! Here are a few of our partnering vineyards around the Silver State that we are proud to work with on our quest to harvest and produce successful Nevada wines.
Everyones efforts have helped us produce 2 Double Gold, 18 Gold, 51 Silver and 29 Bronze medal winning wines! This is a real accomplishment for all of the growers in the state that have worked so hard to make this happen because we all know that "wine is made in the vineyard". Thanks to you all!

Congratulations to our Nevada Grower Partners for another great year. Our combined vineyard plantings are now over 15,000 vines. We are dedicated to growing the "Nevada Wine Industry" and after years of hard work we are all delighted to be on the leading edge of this goal.
With major new plantings in 2015, 2016 and 2017 we are well on our way to producing nearly 100 tons of Nevada wine grapes or approximately 7,000 cases of real Nevada wine. We are proving every day that yes we can do it here in Nevada.
This estate vineyard is located here at our winery and consists of Zinfandel and Syrah. Planted in the early 1990's, this Zinfandel vineyard is also Nevada's oldest commercially producing red grape vineyard.
The vineyard you are looking at here produced the state of Nevada's first commercial red wine in state history when it was harvested in 2005. You can imagine how delighted we were when these first 100 cases of Zinfandel, released in 2008, won 7 National Wine Awards, including a Gold! The 2006 vintage followed with another award winning year. It's easy to see that southern Nevada is becoming "Zinfandel" territory.
A major expansion of the vineyard in 2009 added Syrah and more Zinfandel. These vines began producing in very small amounts in 2011 and began producing much larger crops beginning in 2012. All the new vines are planted on drought resistant root stock and placed on a (VSP) vertical shoot position trellis system.
In March of 2014 we released or first "estate" Syrah, our 2011 vintage. This wine exploded with juicy flavors and spice and can you believe it we won "GOLD" at the Tasters Guild International wine competition. It quickly became the fastest selling dry red wine in our history. Both our Syrah and Zinfandel have been awarded GOLD medals in National Wine Competions. Maybe we really are on to something here in Nevada!
Jerry Nelson was an early founder of grape growing in Nevada. Jerry stubbornly insisted that he could grow wine grapes in southern Nevada when everyone else said it was impossible. Well, that's all he needed to hear. So, Jerry amazed everyone when his vines, planted in the 1990's, actually started to produce wine-worthy wines.
The vineyard was a "large" hobby for Jerry and his experimenting with numerous different varietals provided much needed information on how and what to grow in the Mojave desert. Some of the vines from this vineyard provided fruit for some of our earlier vintages. The knowledge gained from these early plantings gave way to optimism for others.
We are saddened at the loss of Jerry in December of 2011 and he will be missed. His dogged determination gave encouragement and inspiration to all that followed. He was a true Nevada pioneer.
Bob & Roni Regan began developing a three acre vineyard 30 miles north of Pahrump in 2003. Varietals include Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Ruby Cabernet. This vineyard is he major source for our Silver State Red.
Vines started to produce in small amounts in 2008 and the experience gained by the planting of these varietals has been invaluable. Their determination and hard work really paid off when we produced Nevada's first Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from this vineyard. We've also been very impressed with the progress of the Zinfandel and Syrah varietals and consider those to be great prospects for future expansion.
We will continue working with Bob & Roni for years to come as they expand the vineyard contributing to Nevada's small but expanding grape growing industry and helping produce quality Nevada wines.
New plantings in 2016 and 2017 bring this vineyard to 15 acres. We are commited to Nevada wines!!
Dr. Roger & Nancy Gehring have the largest single vineyard in southern Nevada with 5 acres planted in 2005 of Primitivo, Syrah, Tempranillo, Barbera, Mourvedre and Cinsaut. These were all great choices for the area's climate and soil.
We recently partnered with Dr. Gehring to manage and purchase all the fruit from the 5 acres. The vineyards continue to improve and our 2016 harvest yielded nearly 24 tons of Nevada wine grapes! We are excited about the prospects this vineyard presents and look forward to planned expansion.
2016 saw another major planting of 3,000 Symphony wine grapes. These are known as UBER vines that mean we should see our first harvest in 2018. These vines took off like a rocket and we expect big results with substantial harvests.
2017 saw an additional 5 acres planted of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Barbera, Petite Sirah, Ruby Cabernet, Grenache and Muscat. Vines took very well and we should see our first harvest in 2 to 3 years.
Never one to sit still, Dr. Gehring planted 2,000 olive trees at the vineyard. In 2013 we were pleased to release less than 70 bottles of Nevada's first ever olive oil. It was no surprise that the oil sold out quickly.
Mark, Joyce and Bill Hartman have shown incredible enthusiasm at the prospect of establishing vineyards in western Nevada. This area known as Fish Lake Valley has some of the finest conditions we have found to date for Nevada vines with conditions similar to our neighboor to the west, California.
The family farm began in the early 70s. First with hand lines, then wheel lines and now pivot irrigation. In 2001 we started a pet food company packaging our alfalfa, oat wheat barley and timothy hays for small animal retail. In 2009 we began a test plot of wine grapes and in 2010 a test plot of lavender
Committed to new crops that use less water that will benefit the farm as well as the state with lower water-use. The test plot of grapes consisted of Merlot, Malbec, Mouvedre, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling. 50 of each different variety were planted in June of 2009 and show incredible potential.
Since 2014 this "never slow down" family has planted another 5,300 vines of Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec. We have extremely high hopes and are very excited about the quality of wine that will be harvested in the future. The Nevada wine industry is growing because of dedicated farmers like the Hartman family.
Recently a three bedroom Bed & Breakfast in anticipation of the agri-tourism was opened.
