Robert Deyber was born and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, where he began drawing at an early age. His mother was a well-known traditional portrait artist working in New York City in the 60’s.
Robert Deyber’s career has taken him all over the world. He lived for a while in the Umbria region of Italy, and also lived for a time in San Francisco and New York before moving to Boston. Currently residing in Litchfield, Connecticut. He has developed a style that is unique and surreal, finding inspiration from the cultures that have surrounded him.
Deyber is a visual raconteur —a storyteller with a paintbrush, his mind’s eye planted deep within the subconscious. With artistic roots that hail from the Surrealist movement, among his heroes are Rene Magritte and Salvator Dali. It is the undecided tone between sincerity and irony that makes Robert’s artwork distinctly contemporary, his visual vocabulary distinctly his own, but with a worldwide audience.
He is exclusively represented by Martin Lawrence Galleries who shows his work in New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Dallas, New Orleans, Chicago, Costa Mesa, La Jolla, Lahaina, and Boston.
